Robert had off this past Friday, so we took a mini vacation to Nashville, TN for a little fun. We wanted to go on one fun trip with Jeremiah before the baby arrives in March. We stayed in a Holiday Inn across from the Gaylord Opryland hotel. For the past two/three years, we had been wanting to go to the ICE! exhibit put on by the Opryland hotel and it never worked out. We were very happy that it worked out this year. The exhibit was great and Jeremiah loved seeing all the animals made from ice. He got cold about halfway through and was ready to go so he could warm back up. Here are some pictures from the exhibit:
I have included this link to the rest of the pictures that I uploaded to facebook. You can see a lot more pictures by clicking on this link.

As you can see from the pictures, we had a great time and enjoyed our family time together. We went to eat at the Cock of the Walk on Friday night and Jeremiah loved eating off the tin plates and drinking from tin cups. The lady came out to toss the cornbread and catch it...he loved watching that and told her, "wow...good job". We ended the night by walking around the Gaylord Opryland hotel and viewing the beautiful decorations.

Decorating the Christmas Tree
Jeremiah had a great time this year helping fluff and decorate the Christmas tree. He really loves the tree this year and looks forward to Robert getting home so we can light it up. If he had his way, the lights would be on all day long. I hope you enjoy the pictures!

Baby Adam #2 Update
We went for a doctor visit for my 20 week checkup on Thursday and everything went great. They did an ultrasound of the baby and the baby had a strong heartbeat. As of now, the baby is measuring 15 cm and weighing around 13 oz. We didn't find out the gender of the baby, because we want it to be a surprise on our delivery day. I have included two of the ultrasound pictures for people that we won't see this next week. We had a nice ultrasound tech. that did some in 4D for us and you can see lots of the baby's facial features. We go back to my specialist at the end of December, so we should have more ultrasound pictures to upload at that time.

***Jeremiah's BIG Secret***
Jeremiah has a secret he would like to share with you.....
You'll have to read the back of his shirt to find out...
Yes, we are expecting our second child in March 2012. We are very excited about having another baby and Jeremiah is excited about being a big brother. I am 15 weeks right now and the baby is doing very well. We've been able to hear the heartbeat a couple of times and saw the baby twice in sonogram pictures. Yes, we are waiting to find out whether this baby will be a boy or girl until the delivery day. We did this with Jeremiah and it was so much fun not knowing until that day. We are very thankful the Lord has blessed us with another child and looking forward to meeting him/her in March.
We took Jeremiah to the movies this weekend for the first time to see Lion King. They are showing it in 3D and 2D in our area, so we chose to just take him to the 2D version. He had a great time and loved the movie. It was his first time to see Lion King too. My parents came to visit this weekend and Jeremiah had a great time visiting with them. He played, played and played some more with his paw-paw and maw-maw.

*** First LPA Meeting & Incredible Pizza Company ***
Hi! I know it has been a while since our last post, but there has been alot going on around the Adam household. We were able to attend our first LPA (Little People of America) meeting in August and met some wonderful people. In this chapter, they have a lot of children in Jeremiah's age range and he had a great time playing with other children just like him. They had the social at Lone Elk Park in St. Louis and there was a family of elk that rested in the shade beside our pavilion. It is a free range park, so they are able to roam freely. They also had buffalo/bison at this park, but they were in a different area. They kept the animals separate with cattle gaps and fences.
After the social, our family went to the Incredible Pizza company in St. Louis for fun and pizza. It is very similar to Ghatti Town in MS, but has a few more attractions indoor. Jeremiah loves to bowl and they have a miniature bowling alley that he had a blast playing. The balls are much smaller than a regular bowling ball, so he was able to hold and throw it by himself. Of course, he spotted the arcade game, Deal or No Deal, and had to play. He loves that game. Robert and Jeremiah played the Nascar arcade car and all Jeremiah kept telling Robert was slow down. It's a new phrase that he likes to use alot.
We were able to travel home to Mississippi in September for a quick visit. It was Jeremiah's and I first time to travel by ourselves and he did a great job. I didn't get any pictures from that week. Our family has been to two associations the past two weekends. We had a great time at each one and are enjoying meeting new people in our area. I forgot to take my camera both weekends, so no pictures. I'm going to have to do a better job at taking the camera with us.

** MS Children's Museum & Robert's Birthday **
While we were visiting family in MS, we were able to go to the Children's Museum for the first time. Jeremiah had a great time playing with his cousin, Nate, at the museum. I think he favorite part was the musical instrument room, but I don't have a picture from that room. He liked some of the other exhibits too, but a lot of it was just too big for him to enjoy by himself. Oh, I almost forgot, he also loved milking the cow!!
Robert celebrated his 30th birthday on August 1st. We had a cake for him at church, so Jeremiah and I got him a fruit arrangement to celebrate at home.

Happy Birthday Jeremiah!!!
Wow, time has really flown by and now my little boy is now three. We took the train home to Mississippi in late July and celebrated his birthday with family a little early. He actually turned 3 on Monday, August 15. At his party, we had cake, balloons, and presents, but his favorite part this year was blowing out the light (candles). Whenever you ask him about his birthday, all he will say is, "I blow out lights". We lit the candles twice at my parents house, so he could blow out the lights. We had two birthday parties while in Mississippi, one at my parents' house and one with Robert's family.
I will have to say that I really love this age. Jeremiah gets so excited over the little things and has learned how to be funny to make you laugh. He is like a sponge and wants to soak up anything that you are willing to teach him. He already know his letters, numbers and colors. We are still working on shapes. He loves to sing songs. I am looking forward to working with him more at home and seeing what we can accomplish by his fourth birthday.

Train trip to Mississippi
Jeremiah and I were able to ride the Amtrak train home to Mississippi in July. It was the first train trip for both of us. He was pretty excited about riding the train because he is really into Thomas the Train now. He thought when we went to the train station we were going to ride Thomas, Percy and Salty. We got on the train around 1:00am, so he was asleep and never saw the actual train. He still thinks we rode Thomas!
He slept until about 6:00am and was so excited when he woke up that morning and looked out the window. He was so good on the train and sat in his seat the whole time. I packed plenty of things to do and snack on, so he stayed pretty entertained. He has now figured out the train takes us to paw-paw's house, so whenever he wants to see paw-paw he says, "Mommy let's ride the train to paw-paw's". I think another train ride is in our future, but I just don't know when it will happen.

Marine Homecoming & Bowling
We lived in a little town, Marine, before moving to our apartment in Highland. They have a homecoming each year that involves a parade, mini carnival and other events. We went on Saturday afternoon to catch the parade and this would be Jeremiah's first parade. He wore ear plugs since he does not tolerate loud sounds, so he enjoyed each part of it. It was a neat experience and we are looking forward to attending more of the homecoming parades next year.
We were able to go bowling one night as a family. We had a great time even though Robert beat us. They had a ramp for children to use, so they could push their ball down the lane. Jeremiah liked that he was able to bowl by himself. He had a great time and still talks about bowling. I think we will have to go back again soon.

Jeremiah loved the Shriner cars.
They did all types of tricks as they drove in the parade.
It was quite amazing they never hit each other.

Boys & Baseball
Jeremiah loves baseball! He loves to play and he will watch an entire game on the television without getting bored. I think you'll see from this clip that he is starting to imitate what he sees the professionals do during a game. This is how we entertained ourselves while Robert was without a job and we had nothing else better to do with our time. This is an old video, so I will have to say Jeremiah has gotten better on hitting. You can now pitch it to him and he will hit the ball. We no longer have to bounce the ball to him. I hope you enjoy it!

***Indiana trip***Move to Illinois***Picking Strawberries***
This last month has been one wild ride, but I feel that we are finally getting settled in and starting to make a home in our new place. Robert made it home safely from his trip to Indiana the 2nd weekend in May and I have included some pictures from his trip below. We finished packing the rest of our things, got new carpet in our old house and moved to Illinois on May 17. We have been busy since we arrived in Illinois, but loving the area that where we live and love being so close to St. Louis, MO.
Our first day in Illinois was spent at the pediatricians office meeting Jeremiah's new pediatrician. He was not sick, we were just getting established, so we would have one if he got sick. I think we are going to like him and Jeremiah seemed to like him too. We finished up the week unpacking, visiting and just exploring the new area. During our second week, we were able to go pick strawberries out of a patch and made some yummy strawberry jam. This was the highlight of the week for us! I have picked a lot of things in my lifetime, but never been to a strawberry patch. Jeremiah finally caught on by the end and had fun finding the red berries, but could not convince him to eat one. We also went to the St. Louis Children's Hospital and had our first visit in the skeletal dysplasia clinic. Jeremiah saw a geneticist, Dr. Shinawi, and he pretty much had some of the same concerns that we had about his growth and development. It was nothing serious...just a lot of let's watch this and keep an eye on that. We were very impressed with the hospital and it was so kid friendly. Being affiliated with this clinic, all of his specialists will be located in the hospital, so it will make it super easy for appointments and the doctors to be able to network. We went on a nasty, stormy day, so I didn't get to take pictures, but will on our next visit.
We still do not have internet access at our house yet, so I am not able to check email very much. We are hoping to get internet and a landline phone soon. We are in Tupelo this weekend to watch Nate play buddy ball and Robert will be at Ackerman church on Sunday. Jeremiah and I will be traveling home with my parents tomorrow, so they can drop us off at Batson on Thursday morning. Jeremiah will be having an ABR hearing test done that afternoon and then we will be departing for the annual Moak fishing trip at Lake Washington. It will be weird being away from our IL home for a week, but also nice seeing friends/family. We will be returning to IL on Saturday and getting ready for our annual meeting the 2nd weekend in June.
