Did you know that October is also National Dwarfism awareness month? With Jeremiah and I both having Achondroplasia dwarfism, the most common type, I thought I would close with a few facts. Eighty percent of children with dwarfism have two average size parents. My parents are both average size and raised me just like their other three children. Robert and I knew there was a fifty percent chance of having a child with dwarfism, but that didn't matter to us. We feel blessed that God created Jeremiah just for us and wouldn't have him any other way. Jeremiah has taught us some much in just these two short years and we are looking forward to seeing what God has in store for him.

October Fun
We have kicked off October with our first busy weekend of the month. If we survive this month, we will probably hibernate the month of November. We headed out on Friday to the Good Hope Association in Laurel. On Saturday, Jeremiah and I attended the Ole Brook festival, Sister Berryhill's 90th birthday party and played with family. On Sunday, we attended church and went to eat with Jeremiah's grandfather, Ken, for his birthday. I have posted some pictures below from our weekend...I hope you enjoy them!

Swimming Lessons
Well, we survived our first lesson without tears or choking on water. He was a little timid the first five minutes, but had fun splashing the rest of the class. At the end of the class, everyone gets a turn to go down the slide and our son clapped and cheered for each child. He loved the slide!! I uploaded two videos that you can watch and enjoy seeing Jeremiah "swimming". Hope everyone has a wonderful Labor day weekend!!

Happy, Happy Birthday
In August, we celebrated Robert's, Jeremiah's and Nannie's birthday. Needless to say, we have had plenty of cake and ice cream this month, but we do have more birthday's to celebrate this month.

I thought things would begin to slow down as summer ended, but it seems like "busy" is just going to be a constant word in our lives. Jeremiah starts swimming lessons tomorrow and I am anxious to see how this will turn out. He'll be in a parent/child class, so I'm letting Robert have the honors of being with him in his first class. We've also had to child proof our cabinets. Jeremiah found all sorts of things to get into, but his favorite cabinet was the snack cabinet.

St. Louis and Chicago
We have made it home safely from our trip to Edwardsville, IL and Chicago, IL. Jeremiah and I traveled with Robert to fill in at the church in Edwardsville. We were able to stay with the Lewis family. We arrived on Friday afternoon and we where able to travel to St. Louis on Saturday morning to visit the Arch and eat at the Spaghetti Factory. We loved going up in the Arch and viewing the beautiful city. Robert loved the Spaghetti factory because they had a gluten free menu. He could order from it because they used the same gluten free pasta we use at home. Jeremiah loved the Spaghetti factory because he loves spaghetti!!
You don't realize how large it really is until you stand under it.
Robert was blessed to preach a good sermon on Saturday night and on Sunday morning. We enjoyed visiting with the church family. It is so good to know that no matter how far you travel, you always feel at home in a Primitive Baptist church. We left for Chicago after church and arrived that night at our hotel. On Monday, we visited the Field museum and Shedd Aquarium. On Tuesday, we looked out the Skydeck at Willis (Sears) Tower, visited the Hershey Store, Navy Pier and watched the light show at the Buckingham Fountain in Grant Park. We had a great time and Jeremiah was such a trooper through the whole trip. He loved watching the monkeys and penguins play at the Shedd Aquarium, eating a cookie from the Hershey store, making Max the Monkey at Build-a-Bear on Navy Pier, and watching the light show at the fountain. I will have to say that he fell asleep at the Field Museum, so it did not really keep his attention. Overall, we had a great time and really enjoyed our vacation.

The ledge pokes out from the building, so it
feels like you are standing directly above the streets.
