Wow! I never thought this day would get here, but Jeremiah is finally able to sit up unassisted. He can push himself up from the floor into an upright position and balance himself. I just love seeing the smile on his face as he accomplishes this goal and hears his mommy and daddy cheer for him. We have to thank Ms. Kim for helping us get to this point. Jeremiah has been going to therapy for a couple of weeks now and she is teaching us techniques to work with him at home to build upper body strength.
Now that we have accomplished sitting up unassisted, we are working on crawling on his hands and knees. He crawls now, but just by scooting around on his belly. We go back to therapy and look forward to showing Ms. Kim the progress we have made this week. He likes holding himself up with his hands, but doesn't like putting those knees under him. I hope to be able to post some pictures this week of him sitting up like a big boy. We are going Saturday to take Easter pictures made and this will be his first photo session that he will not have to be propped up.
I can't believe he is 19 months old now. We have done away with the pacifier and he has done fine without it. I think Robert and I liked it more than he did...it sure did keep him quiet. Without the pacifier, there is much more babbling and words forming daily. Here's his word list: dada, momma, bye, hi, thank you, papa, and uh-oh. He also has learned how to move his hands to resemble leading a song in church like his daddy. You can start singing him a song and he will move his hands like he is the song leader. It's cute and something that he just picked up on his own one day.
