Susannah Elaine Adam

"It's a girl!! I was right and you were wrong." These were the words I heard from my husband, Robert, as he peeked over the sheet to see our baby girl for the first time. I was surprised and shocked at the same time because during the whole pregnancy I just felt like she was going to be a boy. However, I feel blessed to say we have a happy, healthy little girl, Susannah Elaine Adam that was born on Tuesday, March 20th at 8:05am. She weighed 6lbs 11oz and measured at 19 inches in length. We are now a family of four and it has been fun experiencing some firsts with her. Robert was able to go shopping and purchase her first dress for church (picture to follow in another post). Yes, we do have our boy and girl now, but we would still love to have more children if the Lord sees fit to bless us with another child. So, here she is.....

Last Post Before Our Family Expands

In one week + a day, we will meet the second addition to the Adam family. We will know if Jeremiah will have a  little brother or sister and be able to announce their new given name. It will be an exciting time for our family and we look forward to sharing the news with you. We just feel blessed to be able to experience the joys of raising another child. In actuality, God is blessing us with one of His own and entrusting us to raise this child as He has commanded us to as parents. I had never really heard it put into words this way until Robert was blessed to preach on it one Sunday.

I am still feeling good and doing well at this point. I go back to the doctor for the last time on Wednesday and looking forward to delivering on March 20. We are just taking things one day at a time in our house right now. We were able to get all the baby's things out of storage this weekend and set up in our apartment. I had made a list of things to do before the baby's arrival about a month ago and I am proud to say that the list is almost complete. We only have two or three things left to do compared to the thirty/forty that were on the list. I am confident we will complete the list this week and be able to enjoy our weekend before the big day.

Of course, I have some pictures to share that I have posted below. We took a break one day from working on our to-do list and played with playdough. Jeremiah had a lot of fun, but as you can see in the second picture someone else in our house had fun too. He made Jeremiah's day by making a train with tracks.

Sunny Day = Playing at Park

We finally had a sunny day and daddy had the day off, so we spent some time at the park. This was our first time to check out this park and Jeremiah loved it. It was so easy for him to manuevar around the park independently, so he had a great time doing things by himself. We have been working on tackling stairs and it has been hard for him because stairs are different heights wherever you go. Well, at this park, they had very short stairs and bars he could hold onto to climb up by himself. He was very proud of himself the first time he did it and I would have to say that mommy and daddy were proud too. The slide is his favorite thing to do, but he also loves the swings.

Baby #2 Update - 32 weeks

Hi! I just thought I would take time today to give everyone an update on how things are going with my second pregnancy and baby #2. We are doing great and the baby is receiving good reports each time I go to the doctor. I'm now seeing my regular OB every two weeks and that will probably change to once a week at the beginning of March. My doctor is having me go to the hospital every two weeks to monitor the baby's heartbeat and do an ultrasound to check on the baby. There is nothing wrong, but this is just a precaution. They had to take Jeremiah early because he began to show signs of distress caused by lack of space, so my doctor is just being cautious. I go back to my specialist in St. Louis on Thursday and that should be my last appointment with him. We have set a date for the csection and that should take place on Tuesday, March 20th. It is nice to have a date, but I learned with Jeremiah that date really does not mean a thing. We had his set for August 19th and he came on August 15th, but we do know the baby will be here on or before March 20th.

Christmas in MS & Playing in Snow

We were able to travel down to Mississippi on New Years day, so we could spend some time with our families. We had Christmas with my family and Jeremiah got a lot of goodies from his grandparents, aunts and uncles. We had a great time visiting with everyone.

This was our second snow of the season and it stayed around long enough for daddy to be able to play in it with us one day. Jeremiah has always had this strong dislike of snow....he never wanted to touch it, step in it or even cared to look at it. I think we are on a road of tolerance now and hopefully one day he will love it like his daddy loves it. We actually got him to go outside and play in it for five minutes. I knew I had to take pictures fast because it wasn't going to last long. His favorite part was being able to pick it up and throw it at us.

Train Ride & Presents From MS

As I explained in the previous post, my son (&husband) loves trains. Jeremiah loves train shirts, toys, pictures, or anything involving trains. We were able to travel to Greenville, IL to see their Christmas display and ride a miniature train setup by a local train club. Since moving to the IL area, I have noticed there are a lot of train clubs, so Jeremiah is getting plenty of opportunities to see trains and train displays. It was very cold that night, so we only looked at the Christmas lights briefly and rode the train.

This was our first Christmas since moving away from our families in Mississippi, so Jeremiah got lots of boxes this year from the UPS man and our mail man. He began to love the sound of the doorbell before nap time each day because he knew he was getting another package. We made him wait to open his boxes until Christmas day after church, so here are a few pictures from that day.

A little behind....Christmas at home

Yes, I've gotten a little behind on blogging, so I am going to try to catch up today. We were able to stay home this year and have Christmas at our apartment. We opened presents on Christmas eve morning, since Christmas was on Sunday. Jeremiah didn't know the difference and it gave him all day to play with his presents. His big present this year was a Melissa & Doug wooden train set and he has played with it everyday since opening it. We found it at Borders during their going out of business sale, so we got it for a good price too. Jeremiah had lots of fun opening presents this year and I love all of his facial expressions. He has a lot of them! Here are a few snapshots from that day....
